Fishing Forever is a non-profit organization committed to providing fishermen with a vehicle to renew and preserve Ontario's fishing resource for the continued enjoyment of the sport today and for future generations.
Letter From the Chairman
Picture it - kids splashing in a farm pond, fishing with your family from a cottage dock before breakfast. Fishing is a family and a personal celebration of the great outdoors. Whether chasing tournament bass or rolling a cast across a river, it's all about celebrating life in Ontario. Fishing is a significant part of our past and represents our rich and diverse cultural heritage.
If we're to pass on to the next generation a piece of this important natural resource, we will need help. Conserving fisheries is the responsibility of all Ontarians. Governments manage fisheries, but their efforts are being reduced and they cannot cover the full range of challenges and opportunities offered by recreational fisheries today. This resource needs supporters, volunteers, benefactors and, most importantly, conservationists. Our angling culture needs a focal point to attract individual and private sector commitment to maintain and enhance our lakes and rivers. Fishing Forever is that nucleus.
Fishing Forever has been established to develop and implement the much-needed private sector leadership to conserve fish and preserve this important resource for our next generation. We are concerned anglers from varied backgrounds. Fishing Forever will not replace or usurp provincial, regional or local clubs and conservation groups. Fishing Forever is volunteer-oriented, directed and controlled by anglers. Its principal focus is recreational fisheries conservation and securing the future of fishing in Ontario.
This resource is best protected by those of us who truly love sport and recreational fishing. That's why I'm inviting you to join with me to ensure our children will always have the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and pursue fishing with the same love and enthusiasm we have enjoyed for generations.
Together, we can make it happen.
